People way of shopping is changing day by day,people use to shop in small grocery shop earlier,but nowadays they are more focused and rely on shopping in supermarkets due to various reasons,People shop in supermarket because they get variety of products,can shop under one roof,more hygienic products is found in supermarket in comparison to small shops,quality and quantity are maintained in supermarket.Customer service assistant are there in supermarket to assist customer,all products are displayed according to there categories so its easy to find products looking for.Enough parking area,hygienic and friendly environment,range of products,easy tracking of nonconforming products,reasonable price,promotion items,discounts etc also influence customer to shop in supermarket and therefore heavy traffic of customer is found in supermarkets.

Grocery Clerk

In supermarket grocery clerk is the person who is responsible for Orders product as requested, Receives product deliveries, ensuring order and invoice accuracy, stocks, rotates merchandises and faces product according to department procedure, Maintains back-stock areas according to department standards, Trains other staff needed, Catalogs and codes invoices, if requested, according to procedure, Assists in other departments as needed.

Performs other duties as assigned to meet business needs, knows and adheres to quality standards for customer service as outlined by supervisor, Adheres to all guidelines around product recommendation and information, Assists in any other departments as needed. Grocery clerk should Communicates openly and honestly with all others in the organization, respectfully at all times, he should not expose customers to internal disagreements, Resolve conflicts respectfully and in a timely manner, asks for assistance from appropriate supervisor as needed and promotes the cooperative principles, Reports to work for scheduled shifts, on-time and appropriately uniformed, Understands and adheres to organizational and department policy and procedures, Accepts and offers feedback and suggestions openly and respectfully, Takes initiative to identify report and resolve problems before they escalate and provides a positive model for co-workers.

Supermarket Manager

Supermarket Manager is the key person  and responsible for overall handling of supermarket.Manager of supermarket duties is to control the staff,Increase the sales volume,control the shrinkage,assigned inventory in successive period of time,check mark up,mark down and perform duties as retail standard.Retail manager should be expert in handling supermarket,should posses sound health,good convincing power and customer handling knowlede,should posses leadership power.Manager a word itself defines of managing.As comparision to other manager retail manager has more duties and responsibilites.

Nonfood

Nonfood section is also another important section in supermarket,it includes all non food iteams such as household items,cosmetics,personal hare,hair care,saving care,soaps etc it also covers a good  turnover in supermarket,nonfood items are always diaplayed in entrance in customer entry,nonfood itself describes not food items.supermarket carries nonfood items well.people shop in supermarket for nonfood because price and quality is reasonable as comparison to other reatail outlet

Checkout

Checkout means place where customer finally enters after finishing shopping for billing,this is the main place of supermarket because billing is done,simple mistakes in billing can short money,specific person is assigned for billing in checkout.In this modern trend of business billing is done by software which is installed in the computer and scanning in done by barcode scanner.Barcode scanner scans the digit which is in the products and software takes it and billing task is done.CHeck out is also known as POS(POINT OF SALE)in retal terms,every supermarket as POS.

Groceries

Grocery is the heart of any supermarket,fifty percent of turnover is focused in grocery,grocery includes all the food stuffs for example rice,pudding,soups,pasta,juices,frozen foods etc.In supermarket grocery is the section were there is much customer traffic or we can say footflow because of daily needs of foods are available in groceries section,Autually grocery section are also divided in supermarkets as pasta and soup,rices and grains,spices and condiments,confectionery,tea and additives,beverages,alcoholic produts,canned foods,animal food etc.

Customer Service assistant

The major responsibility of a supermarket customer service assistant is addressing customer complaints. When there is a problem at the register or on the floor, customers will find the customer service counter for help. A customer service assistant must understand how to help a customer's needs in the most efficient way possible. This person must be able to contact other departments for help or think past the obvious solutions. Most importantly the customer must leave pleased with the outcome.

A customer service assistant must understand all store policies. Cashiers and utility clerks will come to this person for help, so it is important the assistant knows how to deal with any problem. This may vary from how to reset a register scale or manually enter a coupon to return a bag of molding grapes. The customer service assistant should know where items are throughout the store and whom to contact for different problems. For example, what department should one call if a new jar of pickles is needed?
